Raise funds for us

IOSF is a global organisation working to conserve all 13 species of otter by helping to support scientists and other workers in practical conservation, education, research and rescue and rehabilitation.

Otters are special animals and we need special people to help.

Don’t underestimate what YOU can do – one person who cares enough can make a big difference. Even if you don’t have a lot of time or money there are little things you can do to contribute to protecting otters.

You can help in many ways – here are some ideas:

Publicity

• Tell people about otters and why they are important – otters use both the land and water and so both need to be clean and healthy – this is not only good for the otters but for all species, including our own.
• Encourage friends, relatives, etc, to become members themselves.
• Once you have read your Newsletter pass it on to someone or see if you can leave it in the staff canteen, dentist or doctor’s surgery, library, etc for others to read.
• Ask your local library, information point, etc, if they will put up a leaflet telling others about IOSF.
• Send us cuttings about otters from newspapers, etc.

Fundraising

• Car Boot Sale
• Coffee Morning
• Kids – how about having a sale at school of homemade cakes or old toys; a car washing day, etc.
• How about a concert in your local community centre – you can provide an entertaining evening for others, raise some funds, tell others about otters and show off your hidden talents, all at the same time!
• You could ask your local shop, restaurant or pub to have a collection box – contact us for official boxes and registration form.
• Sponsorship – in the past we have had people swim, walk or even abseil for otters – what ideas do you have? Contact us to download a sponsorship form from our website. 
• Collect used stamps and send them to us (ask at your local Post Office, Library school or supermarket) (Add your name and address or IOSF's address in the space provided on the poster.)
• If you are working, how about encouraging your company to become a corporate sponsor or match-fund your donations.
• Ask us for Otter Shop order forms and we will send goods out direct to people who order through you. 
• Recycling

	Send e-cards and donate to IOSF at the same time at www.charitygreetings.com
	This huge marketplace where you can sell items and donate all or part of your success to IOSF.
	We have teamed up with enviroCharities, a scheme dedicated to helping you as a supporter make money from your old mobile and support IOSF at the same time.
